Pioneering Oregon Wineries

Mount Tabor Winery
(1970’s)

This was a short lived winery that was located in the City of Portland, perhaps the first one in Portland.

Little is known about it except that it was operating in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s.

The winery was probably a little bit ahead of its time!!

Fun Facts

In 1968 the Economic Development Division of the Oregon State Department of Commerce published a report which found that Oregon viticulture had reached “a higher level of sophistication then most people realize” with grapes of excellent quality. The report also noted a rapidly rising demand for table wines.
