Joan Davenport (1937-2013)

Joan Davenport moved to Dayton in 1990 and bought a 13 acre property that included a house, a historic barn built in 1870, and a 5-acre vineyard that was first planted in 1970. The vineyard is reported to be the second oldest planting in the red hills of Dundee.

After much work she opened the Wine Country Farm Bed & Breakfast. In 2006 she built a winery and tasting room and established Armonea Wines. In Spanish Armonea means “harmony”. The red poppy was her favorite flower and honors those serving in the military.

Wine Country Farm was listed in the “1000 Places to See Before You Die; World Edition”.
