Glen Creek Winery
(1982 – 1990’s)

Tom & Sylvia Dumm moved from Southern California to Salem in the 1970’s to pursue their interest in wine. In Long Beach they had operated “La Grand Cru” retail wine shop. In the 1980’s the Dumm’s planted a ten acre vineyard in the Eola Hills.

Glen Creek Winery 1985 Oregon Pinot NoirTheir winery was bonded in 1982. Tom was the winemaker. One of their successful wines was the 1985 Pinot Noir made using whole cluster fermentation, a new technique back then.

The winery was located at 6057 Orchard Heights Road NW, Salem, OR.

It is believed that the vineyard and tasting room are still in business today under the Orchard Heights name.


 

Fun Facts

Glen Creek was also notable for being one of the first Northwest wineries to produce wine in “boxes”, which were sold to restaurants.
