Fun Facts

The Oregon Wine Advisory Board was established in 1983, replacing the Table Wine Research Advisory Board. Oregon growers and producers elected to tax themselves $25/ton, a very high amount at the time.
In 1977 Oregon winegrowers convinced the Oregon Liquor Control Commission to adopt the strictest wine-labeling regulations in the nation for Vinifera (Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and others) table wines. By doing this the wine industry hoped to create a high quality image for their wines.
